Low voltage technician

A low-voltage technician installs and services the wiring and systems that run on low voltage — data and network cabling, security and access systems, audiovisual setups, intercoms, and smart-building controls. They run and terminate cable, mount and configure devices, test connections, and troubleshoot the many low-voltage systems modern buildings depend on.

The work is varied and increasingly in demand as buildings get smarter and more connected, combining cabling skill with knowledge of diverse systems. Technicians work for electrical, security, and AV contractors.
