Plasterer

A plasterer applies plaster, render, and stucco to walls and ceilings to create smooth, durable, finished surfaces. They prepare surfaces, mix materials, apply coats by hand with trowels, and work the surface to a flat or textured finish, often also handling decorative moldings and the repair of historic plasterwork.

The work is skilled and physical, requiring a feel for the material and the timing of its setting, since a good finish depends on working it just right. Plasterers work for construction and specialty contractors, indoors and out.
