Framing carpenter

A framing carpenter builds the structural skeleton of buildings — the wooden or metal framework of walls, floors, and roofs that everything else is built upon. They read blueprints, measure and cut lumber, and assemble and raise frames, working quickly and accurately so the structure is square, level, and strong.

The work is physical, fast-paced, and largely outdoors, demanding stamina and precision since framing errors carry through the whole build. Framing carpenters work for construction companies and contractors on residential and commercial sites.
