Integration engineer
Description
An integration engineer connects different software systems, applications, and data sources so they work together. They build and maintain the connections between platforms using APIs, middleware, and custom code, map and transform data between systems, troubleshoot integration failures, and ensure data flows reliably across an organization's or a customer's tangle of tools.
The role focuses on making disparate systems communicate, requiring backend skills, API knowledge, and patience with the messy realities of other people's systems. Integration engineers work across software companies and in enterprise IT.
The job suits methodical problem-solvers who enjoy the puzzle of getting systems that weren't designed to talk to each other to do exactly that, reliably.
