Technical product manager

A technical product manager handles products and features that are deeply technical — APIs, platforms, infrastructure, and developer tools. They do the core product work of strategy, prioritization, and coordination, but with the technical depth to engage engineers on architecture, make informed trade-offs, and own products whose users are often other developers.

The role demands stronger technical fluency than a general PM, sitting closer to engineering. Technical PMs work at tech companies, especially on platform, infrastructure, and API products.
