Telecommunications technician

A telecommunications technician installs and maintains the systems that carry voice, video, and data communications — phone systems, VoIP, conferencing, and the cabling and equipment behind them. They set up and configure communication systems, run and test lines, troubleshoot faults, and keep an organization's voice and data communications working.

The role is hands-on and technical, blending traditional telephony with modern IP-based communications. Technicians work for telecom providers, service companies, and organizations with significant communication infrastructure, often traveling between sites.
