A chip or ASIC designer creates the custom integrated circuits at the heart of electronic devices. They translate functional requirements into circuit designs, write hardware description code (Verilog or VHDL), simulate and verify the logic, lay out the chip, and work through the long, exacting process of turning a design into manufacturable silicon.
