Forensic Science Technician

A forensic science technician collects, preserves, and analyses physical evidence from crime scenes — fingerprints, DNA, fibres, weapons, digital devices — and documents it carefully enough to stand up in court. They process scenes, run tests in the lab, and write the reports that investigators and juries rely on.

They work for police and government crime labs, sometimes on call to scenes at any hour. The role suits meticulous, unflappable people who can work methodically under pressure and grasp the gravity of evidence that may decide a case.
