Health educator

A health educator develops and delivers programs that teach people how to live healthier lives. They assess a community's needs, design educational campaigns and materials, lead workshops and presentations on topics from nutrition and disease prevention to sexual and mental health, and evaluate whether programs actually change behavior.

The role combines teaching, communication, and program planning, aiming to prevent illness by giving people the knowledge and motivation to make better choices. Health educators work in schools, hospitals, nonprofits, workplaces, and health departments, and the job suits outgoing, organized people who want to improve health at the community level through education rather than clinical treatment.
