Radiologist

A radiologist interprets medical images — X-rays, CT, MRI, and ultrasound — to diagnose disease and guide treatment, and may perform image-guided interventional procedures. The work is largely analytical and screen-based, demanding deep visual expertise and clinical correlation, often with limited direct patient contact.

Radiologists are central to diagnosis across medicine, usually working in reading rooms within larger teams. Computer vision now automates detection of many common findings, pushing human radiologists toward complex cases, clinical integration, and interventional work that automated reading cannot cover.
