Anesthesiologist

An anesthesiologist keeps patients safe and pain-free during surgery and other procedures, planning and administering anaesthesia, managing the airway, and continuously monitoring and adjusting vital functions in real time. The work is high-stakes and reactive, demanding instant response to a patient's changing physiology.

The role combines pharmacological knowledge with hands-on procedural skill and crisis management, usually in operating theatres and critical-care settings. Automated drug-delivery systems assist with titration, but airway management and emergency intervention keep the anesthesiologist's hands and judgement essential.
