Paramedic / EMT

A paramedic or EMT provides emergency medical care to people who are sick or injured, usually before they reach a hospital. They respond to emergency calls, assess patients on scene, perform interventions from CPR and wound care to administering drugs and advanced airway management, and transport patients while stabilizing them en route.

The work is fast, physical, and unpredictable, demanding quick judgment in chaotic, high-stakes situations from car wrecks to cardiac arrests. EMS crews work shifts in ambulances and fire services, and the role suits calm, decisive people who can think clearly under pressure and handle the emotional and physical toll of emergency response.
