Description
A nuclear medicine technologist prepares and gives patients small doses of radioactive drugs, then images how those tracers move through the body to reveal function — blood flow to the heart, bone tumours, overactive thyroid tissue, or how well kidneys are clearing. They draw up and measure radiopharmaceuticals, run PET and gamma cameras, handle the radiation-safety paperwork, and explain the procedure to people who are often nervous about the word 'radioactive'.
