Cardiovascular Technologist

A cardiovascular technologist assists cardiologists in diagnosing and treating heart and blood-vessel conditions — running EKGs, assisting in cardiac catheterisation where wires and stents are threaded to the heart, and using ultrasound to image blood flow through arteries. They prepare patients, set up and run the equipment, monitor vital signs during procedures, and capture the measurements the cardiologist reads.

They work in hospital cardiac catheterisation labs and cardiology clinics, often on call for heart-attack emergencies. The role suits people who can stay calm during high-pressure procedures, work closely with a clinical team, and want hands-on cardiac work without the years of medical school.
