Instructional designer (school)

A school instructional designer creates the curriculum, lessons, and learning experiences used in schools, increasingly for digital and blended learning. They apply learning science to design effective, engaging materials, structure courses and assessments, build digital content, align everything to standards, and work with teachers and subject experts to turn learning goals into usable resources.

The role blends pedagogy, design, and often technology, focused on how students learn best. Instructional designers work for districts, education companies, and edtech firms.
