Choreographer

A choreographer creates original dance works, designing movement, structure, and staging and shaping them on dancers in the studio. The role blends solitary conceptual and musical preparation with hands-on, real-time collaboration — demonstrating, adjusting, and drawing performances out of the bodies in front of them.

Choreographers work across companies, theatre, film, and commercial projects, balancing artistic vision against the practical limits of dancers, budgets, and venues. Much of the craft is interpersonal and physical, developed over years of experience as a dancer and maker.
