DJ (club/event)

View resources

Description

A DJ selects, sequences, and mixes recorded music to shape the energy of a club night, party, or event, reading the room and blending tracks to keep a crowd moving. The craft combines deep musical knowledge and curation with hands-on technical skill — beatmatching, mixing, and live manipulation of sound.

The work is performed live and is highly responsive to the audience in the moment. DJing is largely entrepreneurial — building a name, securing bookings, and often producing original music — with late, event-driven hours.

Automated mixing tools handle the mechanics, but live crowd-reading remains the differentiator.
