Composer (film/TV)

A film and TV composer writes original music to picture, scoring scenes to support narrative, emotion, and pacing under a director's brief and a production schedule. The work combines musical craft with technology — sequencing, sample libraries, and recording — often against tight deadlines as cues are revised to match the edit.

It is collaborative and deadline-driven, balancing the composer's voice against the needs of directors, editors, and music supervisors. Most composers work freelance, project to project, sometimes with assistants and orchestrators on larger scores.
