Textile artist

A textile artist creates original work in fibre and fabric — weaving, stitching, dyeing, felting, quilting, or constructing large-scale installations. The work blends design and colour decisions with sustained, dexterous handwork, often on looms or by hand across pieces that can take weeks or months to finish.

Textile artists generally work independently, exhibiting in galleries and craft shows or taking commissions for public and private spaces.
