Mixed media artist

A mixed-media artist combines disparate materials and techniques — paint, collage, photography, textiles, found objects, and digital elements — into a single work, building images and surfaces by layering, cutting, adhering, and constructing. The practice is experimental and open-ended, driven by material exploration and a willingness to let the work evolve as different media interact.

Most work independently in a studio, developing a personal body of work shown through galleries, fairs, and commissions. The role rewards inventiveness and hands-on problem-solving, since each piece poses its own question about how unlike materials can be made to hold together physically and visually.
