Description
A furniture designer creates pieces for production or commission — chairs, tables, storage, and more — balancing form, comfort, durability, materials, and the realities of how they will be made. The work moves from sketches and CAD through prototypes that are tested and refined by hand.
Designers work with manufacturers, makers, and clients, and need real knowledge of materials and production methods. Generative CAD assists with form, but hands-on prototyping, material judgement, and manufacturing relationships keep much of the role physical.
