Wildland fire managers plan for and direct the response to wildfires, making the tactical and strategic decisions that guide firefighting. The work involves assessing fire behaviour and risk, planning suppression and prescribed burns, coordinating crews and resources, and making real-time decisions under dangerous, fast-changing conditions.
